Tencent has outdone the expectations with the recent launch of Pokémon Unite, on 21st July. It was one of the most awaited releases as we know the popularity of such games is growing exponentially. Unlike the worldwide hit Pokémon Go, this version focuses on battling other Pokémon rather than catching them.
It is available free on eShop and if you download it before August 31, 2021, you’ll receive Zeraora’s Unite license to help you on your quest to victory.
The game was made in partnership with Pokémon Co. and the first season, “Welcome to Aeos Island” has officially commenced. Engage in the initial battles to gain essential items that will assist in the coming seasons. Frequent gameplay will help you raise your battle pass level, another way to get wondrous new items.

As Island, a mythical island said to be on the ocean’s unexplored frontier is the arena where all the battles take place. The players will find the Unite Battle Committee (UBC) here, which runs a series of tournaments.
They are tasked with teaming up in five-member squads and fight against each other to gain maximum points before the end of the time limit. A player can use a mysterious force known as Aeos energy encountered in battles to evolve his/her Pokémon.
The goal of the game is to collect Aeo’s energy by defeating wild-opposing Pokémons and then deposit that energy in one of the opposing team’s goal zones. It requires a team effort and thus strategizing is a key aspect for success. There are many stadiums to choose from for battle and each arena has its own set of rules.
Pokémons such as Zeraora, Pikachu, Charizard, Snorlax, Crustle, Greninja, Eldegoss, Talonflame, Lucario, Venusaur, and more appear in this game. They are divided into roles like Attacker, Defender, Speedster, Supporter, and All-Rounder depending on their stats. You’ll need to practice with various creatures to get the ultimate mix.
